About Paints, Brushes, & Canvases Students are encouraged to purchase their own paints and brushes. I use a specific brand (SOHO Urban Artist Acrylics in all my classes) and students must use the exact colors I have chosen for our palette. Alternatively, you may use class brushes and paints for $5 extra per class. Click on this link to find my “teacher’s cart” at Jerrysartarama.com where you can order the items you need. (You can check off the supplies you need; not every item has to be ordered at once.) Canvases should also be purchased prior to class. For convenience I’ll have a supply of canvases available to purchase (but save money and buy them at your favorite art supply store!)

ABOUT THE CLASSES
Landscape Class – Easy-to-follow instruction, step-by-step demonstration, will guide you to create the painting. Each class runs for 2 hours and we work on our paintings week by week until complete – depending on the complexity of the painting, the average completion time is 4-6 weeks. $20 each week. See About Paints, Brushes, and Canvases above.
Painting with a Minimal Palette – In this class you’ll discover the color harmony created with a minimal primary palette. The colors for every painting in this class will be Ultramarine Blue, Rose Madder, Cadmium Yellow Light, and Titanium White. Easy-to-follow instruction and demonstration will guide you to create a beautiful artwork. Subject matter will vary in this class – landscape, seascape, still life. We’ll work on a painting each week until complete. $20 each week. See About Paints, Brushes, and Canvases above.
Independent Class – These classes are for YOU if you like to work on your own acrylic painting in a class setting. I can guide you as needed to make choices for your painting idea and provide help along the way. Independent Class students bring their own supplies (canvas, brushes, paints). $20 each week
By the Sea – This class also unfolds like the Landscape Class, but the subject matter is specifically coastal New England. Each class runs for 2 hours and we work on the painting week by week until complete – depending on the complexity of the painting, the average completion time is 4-6 weeks. $20 each week. See About Paints, Brushes, and Canvases above.
Painting Vermont – on HOLD pending enrollment This class will paint on Canson Montval Acrylic Paper which will be provided -- each painting will be 5"x7" so that we can complete a series in a short number of classes. The subject matter is inspired by my photos from the Green Mountain State. Step-by-step instruction will guide you through the process. Each class runs for 2 hours. $20 each week. Students may purchase a picture mat for each finished painting (which I'll have in the studio, $2 each.) Read about Paints, Brushes, and Canvases above.
More to come!
Beginners Only – This is a 4-week introductory class. If you’ve never picked up a paintbrush or aren’t sure about acrylic paints this is the class for you. This class will show you how to use the brushes, how to mix paints, learn techniques with glazes and painting mediums, and learn to paint a landscape. Students do NOT need to purchase their own art supplies for this class. $100 for the 4-week class.
The Saturday Workshop – Finish a painting in one session. Like the Landscape Class the step-by-step instruction guides you through the process. Classes begin at 9a.m., we take a 30 min. break for lunch (bring your own), then we resume to complete the painting by 3:00. The Saturday Workshop fee (unless noted) is $70 (includes canvas or other painting substrate, & use of class paints and brushes.)
