Dancing Among the Skeletons
(Acrylic on stretched canvas, FRAMED, 2008)
What was once a thriving woodland is swampland now with a skeletal forest. I didn’t want to acknowledge ANY beauty there, but the color on this particular day was bold and beautiful. The young trees were dressed to impress and they seemed to be dancing with their vibrancy, despite the brittle carcasses in their midst. It seemed a defiant display and while I knew these too would soon be stripped and laid bare to winter’s slumber, there was splendor in the swamp
