Close Friends
(Acrylic on stretched canvas, 2008)
These endearing creatures were so willing to pose for me during our visit to Prince Edward Island. I was fascinated by the juxtaposition of these massive animals in the field of delicate grasses and wildflowers, and their genuine companionship was obvious. I was surprised to see that the dark one of the duo, whose name must be “Brutus” or something equally descriptive, was the shy one. I couldn’t help but grin at the sight of them. In the distance is the lone cow who lacks the experience of a close friend.
