A Great Place to Rest

(Acrylic on stretched canvas, 2008) This sparkling scene from Coggshall Park in Fitchburg, Massachusetts caught my attention. The large rocks jut out into the far end of Mirror Lake and provide an ideal spot to take a rest and enjoy the view of the swans, geese, ducks and turtles. The park is filled with hiking trails and these hikers looked to be resting contentedly after hiking in the woods on this pleasant April day. This young family ate their lunch on the sun-drenched rocks then continued on their way.
